Not having authentication via custom APIs is the only reason preventing me from migrating my apps to Adalo. I’m really looking forward to seeing this feature available.

connect your Users collection to a 3rd party API that supports Oauth authentication. Crucial to my workflow and That’s will bring Adalo to the next level. I can’t wait to see it happening

Hi all,
We have an exciting beta that just opened up: our External Users!
What are External Users?
External Users are a collection of user information, think username and password, that live in a collection outside of Adalo.
Historically, every Adalo app utilized the User Collection for sign-up/log-in information — but now, you can use your user information from an external database. Woohoo!
A few things to note:
The external database must have a REST API
The REST API must come with accessible log-in endpoints
Upon set-up of External Users, you will still need to set up External Collections as normal

Katelyn Campbell: That’s great! This is definitely a feature I been waiting for. So, one question: Can I use the auth key for setting up external collections? For that we need Magic text in the parameters field
Katelyn Campbell: Well… will not work for me. External Users cannot be added to current apps.
Katelyn Campbell: Tried to create a new app with this feature but after selecting external users, I did not get the set up prompt as it appears in the video.
Bruno Ribeiro: Magic text is available for external collections 
It was released last week, we just have not made a formal announcement for it. When setting up your external collections, you’ll be able to see the signature T-star symbol on all fields where you can enter text to substitute Magic Text!
