# How to sum the total cost?

Hi there,  
I want to display the total cost of an order item.  
My takeout has add-ons, some add-ons have an extra cost, so when the user select one of them, it should add to the total cost. However, for some reason, my custom formula it’s not displayed on the screen until the user selects all the add-ons. I’m expecting to display the menu item price initially and provide updates as the customer selects the add-ons.

My custom formula (all fields are numbers):

The last two `Sum Price` are each a list, one for salads and another for meats.
