Especially large apps with 100+ screens and thousands of components were slowing down the Builder and making it difficult to select and move components. We’ve made some changes that should improve this considerably.
As always, follow these tips to ensure the best Builder performance:
- Turn off all Lottie Previews in the Builder. These can slow down your browser considerably. We recommend only having Lottie files play in your app, never in the Builder.
- Don’t overload any one screen with too many components. Simpler designs are better for both user experience and performance. Less is more.
- Put large chunks of text in the database and pull them in with Magic Text. Avoid having text components in the Builder with hundreds or thousands of words in them.
- Avoid nesting groups inside of groups. We frequently see apps with as many as five to ten groups nested inside each other. Since all responsive calculations are run relative to the parent container, this can slow down your browser quite a bit. Try using Auto Groups in responsive and avoid nesting more than one to two layers.
