# Mention and Hashtag in input field

Hi Custom Component Developers,

I want to move forward chat app into forum app, which may include social media function such as @ mention and # hashtag.

The existing UX to do this is just to type the character and a popup will show up, and this is not possible with current input field component.

What is the possibility to have input field that can react with the character that we type ?

The workaround would be to add buttons around input field that can act as selector and show the results, but the UX will be odd, because mention should be used in context inside a story, also with hashtag, should be used to emphasize the story or to make bookmark at the current sentence.
