I like to learn something new every year and this year, that thing is app development with Adalo.

I belong to a motorcycle club with chapters in 5 cities. It’s always bugged me that we don’t have a member directory with everyone’s basic contact information. (Each chapter is managed through Meetup, which is not very good for these things…but it does help us attract some great people.)

I was going to build the directory as a web app in WordPress with a responsive theme to support mobile devices, but I’ve done that a bunch of times. I wouldn’t be learning much during that process.

While Adalo still needs to add some features to provide me with all the functions of a widely supported app platform like WordPress, it’s a great start and I want to support them and see them succeed.

As soon as my app is built, I’ll upgrade to a Pro account, publish to the App Store and Google Play, and then add a web version using the same database collections.

I’m on vacation through January 6th, 2020 and plan to have it completed by then.
