Over the last year the Adalo team has spent a lot of time talking about performance, infrastructure, and other big picture topics. However I’m personally very excited to announce we’ve fixed… font size editing! This minor but annoying bug has bothered me since the very first day I used the Adalo Builder.
Now when editing text component font sizes, you can completely zero out the integer value when changing it. No more keyboard gymnastic required!
The Adalo team continues working towards several big picture goals in Q4, including most notably AI-enhanced app building, however I would love to know about the Builder quirks and bugs that annoy you most! We want to fix them!!! Reply to this thread with bug/quirk descriptions. Very high on my personal list: text selection.
The ability to write more than 1 line of text. When it’s supposed to move to the 2nd line, it instead starts overwriting the first line. Also, the ability to write special, language-specific characters like “á”, “ão” generally doesn’t work.
I have however noticed some improvements, but I don’t think it’s yet 100% fixed.
Also, when manually setting the width of a component, whatever number you write, it automatically changes that number to start at least with a 5. Ex: if I want to set a width of 250, it changes it to 550.
Something else that bothers me often as well is when I remove one component from inside another component (let’s say a rectangle that’s inside another rectangle, and I go to the left bar and drag it up to leave that bigger rectangle and be on its own) its width jumps drastically and I have to resize it.
Apologies for posting again, but I can’t seem to be able to edit my previous posts, but when the text has a certain size, like a big bold title or something, the space between lines is usually way too big and often I have to create an image in Photopea with that title and use an image component with it so it looks good.
I can just add that I believe the Function Hub is super critical, and I would integrate it with lists and the search system as well - that way, we could control the display order of lists and other things that are currently impossible to do in Adalo.
IMO making things group inside a rectangle automatically when you drag/drop is super annoying. Other no-code builders I’m fluent give the user control, so it only auto-groups if you hold SHIFT when dropping. That’s not really a “bug” just an opinion.
