Map & distances

Hi guys,

I’m creating a App which provide possibilities to find people near around you.
But ! I’m trying to have a system that can calculate distances between 2 peoples / entities.

E.g : I’m at 3 km far from X

Do you know of it’s possible to do it ? Without or with Google Maps ?
