Share action in PWA shows error "Object type not supported for sharing"

A button with the Share action with a simple URL pops up an error on mobile that’s says Object type not supported for sharing. After dismissing the error, the share menu still pops up with the proper URL.

How do I prevent this error from showing up?

This function is meant for native apps with inbuilt share functions from the mobile/tablet device.
