Has anyone used, in their apps, the ‘@’ symbol to tag other users. Is that do-able at all?

Not right now but you can go for the alternative like give an option to the users to select the users from the drop-down. And trigger the notification to the current tagged user. I hope this will help. If you want more detail check my app Invocial where the user can tag the brand in it.
Will check out your app, but the dropdown box is something I’m already using. Notifications is next.
