I think this would make workflow with Adalo much easier. Instead of holding down the space bar to pan the scroll click wheel on the mouse can be used. Then holding the control key and scrolling up/down to zoom in and out.
I come from an engineering background and this is how it’s done in CAD software.
I think this would be fairly quick and easy to implement. Perhaps an option in settings if you wish to retain the space bar functionality for users that have gotten used to it.

Fwiw if you have a tilting scroll wheel you can pan using that. Best of all (but not cheap) is Logitech MX mouse with the thumb scroll button. Just lovely.
