Can I remove one item from a group?

I know I can drag an item into a group in the left panel of the app builder, but I can’t find a way to remove a single item from a group. Is this possible?

This has come up because I sometimes want to copy a group that is part of another group, and paste it somewhere else. But no matter where I drag the copy, it always remains as part of the bigger group.

You can do this but you must be on screen view, and don’t click inside any of the groups. So you can open drop downs of groups and lists, but don’t click any of the elements-the whole pages widget tree should be visible. Then you can drag elements out of a group.
