I know there are existing requests for custom forms already but I have a proposed format..
My frustration is often needing a bit more functionality and better design for form inputs.
The existing form doesn’t always visually or functionally work with what myself and a lot of other Adalo users need, so we use individual components and a button.
This is fine for 2 or 3 components but when there are 4 or more there is no way to set “is required” in order to progress, unless a jumbled mix of button states and conditional visibility rules are applied.
With all the new great components that have been added recently, it would be great to tie those all in with a custom form function.
Example image below of some of the newer components:
The Image cropper, Advanced Inputs, New Dropdown, Options selector etc all offer far better features than we’ve had before and also all include Magic Text output.
Could Adalo either adjust the current button or create a new separate "FORM BUTTON"? Something that allows us select which collection records are required before the button will perform the desired action.
Mockup of how this could work below:
This will give users:
- As many records “required” as needed on one screen
- Input types can be forced - Text, email, number / decimal pad
- Cropped images within a full form
- Better screen design
- Formulas / calculations
- Avoid unnecessary conditional visibility and incomplete form submissions
@Dilon let me know your thoughts
Thanks
