Help connecting Supabase database to Adalo!

Hello all! I have absolutely no clue what to do anymore. I have pasted my “Project ID” in the exact format of the link below, and have even tried adding the table’s name at the end. I went to ChatGPT for help because I could not find anything recent for connecting Supabase to Adalo and I believe I am being given outdated information. I have no idea what to do. I have created two tables and given them each one record. In “Auth Setup” I have no idea what I’m supposed to put,I tried copying my anon key and still nothing. I keep getting errors. I’m at a loss.

This is my first time ever connecting an outside database for better insight on how lost I am, haha.

Hey @Shalahli,

Connecting Supabase to Adalo as an external collection is done through their REST API, here’s the exact setup that works (tested in several apps):

  1. In Supabase → Settings → API → copy the anon (public) key.

  2. In Adalo → Database → Add External Collection → Supabase.

  3. Base URL: https://.supabase.co/rest/v1/

  4. For a specific table (e.g., RoomUsers): https://.supabase.co/rest/v1/RoomUsers

  5. Auth Headers:

    • Name: apikey Value: your anon key

    • Name: Authorization Value: Bearer your anon key

  6. In Supabase, disable Row Level Security (RLS) on the table for testing, or set policies allowing anon access.

When you test the connection, it should pull the table and records.

Common errors: RLS blocking (disable for test), wrong key, or missing headers.

If you get a specific error message, share it and I’ll troubleshoot.

Sir, I am writing this with a rainfall of gratitude. I genuinely don’t know what to say just- thank you so much. You saved me another night of frustration. Found out I was entering my PUBLISHABLE key as opposed to my anon key.

Many, many thanks!

Hey @Shalahli,

Thank you for your kind words, I truly appreciate them.

You’re most welcome. I’m delighted to hear everything is working smoothly now.

If you need anything else at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m always here to help.

Best regards
