Hello, I’m having trouble figuring out how to create an event for a specific day. Here’s how it should work: the user clicks the plus sign (create an event), and a modal window appears with the option to specify a premiere date or schedule a home viewing. A form opens for each entry (film title and poster searchable from another window, date/time, comment, and reminder, where you can select how many days/hours in advance to be reminded of the event using a notification). After filling out and saving the form, the date with the event should appear in the calendar (a dot, a colored circle, text with the film title, or something similar). Clicking on the date with the event should open an agenda view with the information the user previously filled out. I need the date for creating the event to be selectable: either specify it in the calendar itself (this is better), or enter the desired date when creating the event. Please help: how do I do this?
You can use a date picker in ‘Screen 3’ & ‘Screen 4’. Also you should have a date & time property in your database collection. Then in the calendar, you can select that collection and populate the date & time property.
You can take a look at this video tutorial recorded by @Victor for an example. : https://youtu.be/MS5QDDo-0Q0 (it’s old but should give you the knowledge to setup the calendar & date picker)
Thank you and have a great day!
I understand that the date for this type of calendar can only be selected using the date picker? To be able to click a date in the calendar, do I need to buy a different type of calendar, like an extended one? Or maybe I can set the time and day separately in the regular calendar? The date picker is not very user-friendly. In any case, I can’t even display an event in the calendar, and what about reminders (notifications) for an event within a certain time period?
You can click on days in the Adalo calendar but if you want to click a day in the calendar and create the new record based on the clicked day, Adalo calendar would not be suitable here as far as I’m aware. You would need NoCode Monkey’s markings calendar or advanced calendar which you can purchase from the marketplace. : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rb1PYE9QwikNPHAlfbBRHIwwBLYCcGYi/view?usp=sharing , https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cZJQXOXlldbAO3PeYju1YEM4rtXh-_Y_/view?usp=sharing (video tutorials created by NCM Support Manager, Helena)
May I ask, what’s the reason? Translation issues or giving errors?
You can which you need a date & time property inside your collection which then able to map it in the calendar.
Let me know!
Thank you and have a great day!
Translation issues: I understand the date picker is only available in English? No other language option. It’s also inconvenient for me because I have to scroll through the options each time to select a specific day/month/year. I’ll consider buying a calendar with a date tap. But here’s the question: will it be possible to make it so that when I tap a date, a “create event” modal window opens, and then it takes me to the creation screen. There, I fill in the title and time fields, and after saving, the event appears on the selected date (the title is displayed). I watched the videos you shared, but they’re a bit different, and it’s not very clear to me.
English by default and there’s a feature request available.
Yes, if you need a quick video let me know!
Thank you and have a great day!
