Is it possible to trigger a notification when the app isn't published?

Hi, does anybody know if it’s possible to use the “trigger notification” feature when the app isn’t published in App- and Play Store? I’d need it, because I want to try something out, but I haven’t published it so far.
Best wishes,
Jakob

Sorry no you need to upload the app into TestFlight and Google Play Console even to test. Doesn’t take long to do.

Ok thanks:)

Hello jacob, on android yes you can by downloading the apk, or if you are an aab, just download a converter to apk and it works, but for ios you need to have testflight going on

@njimmy10 Interesting, I didn’t know that (re the converter) as I believed all new Android apps on Adalo will be .aab files for submission onto testing tracks. I’ve always actually put my APKs on testing tracks on the Google Play Console to role out to the team and clients for testing.

Never tried the converters for aab to apk, what’s the beneift of this compared to landing it on for testing in a track?

You just don’t need to get google approval for testing, you download the aab on your phone then convert it to apk… you don’t waste time

Thank you very much for your answer, can you briefly explain how to download this, although I have not published the app. So how am I able to convert the Adalo app in apk or aab format?

Yeah you can ask adalo to switch from aab to apk, so far what I use to test is:

First of all i download the aab file from this browser:

Why this browser? Because if download from samsung internet or chrome the file will be auto transfered to apk but bugged, it won’t parse to download.

Then i use application from playstore named:
App bundle installer to convert to apk

Absolutely this is the fastest way to test Android Native builds. I also use an app called aab converter and does the job. Uploading an app to stores just to test it is a waste of time, I hope Adalo will allow to download the whole apk. and IPA folders for testing purposes

Awesome, great to know - always nice to hear how others work and play.

We usually don’t do notifications set up and flow until the very end of the project, and by then we likely already needed to upload the app onto a track for the iAp component. I’ll give this a go for sure also  thanks folks :raised_hands:
