Link to open installed native app (iOS/Android) from email

Hi all,

Is there a way to open the app (just homescreen would be fine, no complicated deeplinking required) from a link?
I send notification emails and want to include a button that opens up the installed app on iOS/Android.
Preferably one for both platforms, but separate ones for each would be ok to.

I know that deep linking is still not planned. But am curious whether a simple goto-app link is possible right now. Couldn’t find an answer.

Does this also work with directly linking to already installed apps? Or only to the app-store page? The info on the website seems to suggest the latter.
