PDF viewer

Feature to view pdf files would be great.

The ability to generate PDFs would be also awesome!

I can view my PDF’s loaded, they just open in a new tab, but I am happy with that, as I want them to open in a new tab.

PDF is a must for our app. bills and reference documents are mandate

samyak innovations: I agree. The past order page isn’t enough for a B2B platform.

how to step by step to generate report after submit save

Mischelle: How did you achieve this? Thanks!

Mischelle: I am interested to know how did you achieved that too please

Camille Peiret: I simply have a external link to a file.
FIRST, I created a Database Collection for my category of documents, one of the Database property Field Types is File and another is Relationship so they can select the document category.
Screenshot Attached - Collections
SECOND, I created a Screen, with a Form Component it will automatically create the needed fields based on your Collection selected under “Which Data Collection?”
EXAMPLE: with the fields of file name, drop down box to select the relevant relationship item (AKA Category) and a file upload function.
THIRD, I created the List. Add new Screen with Component, Simple List, select my collection, Filter set to the category for that page.
LIST SETUP:
TITLE of the list - I use Magic Text and select the document name entered in the form
RIGHT section of the list - I turn Icon visibility on (so people can click the view icon to open the document.)
The CLICK ACTION is External Link and Select Document - URL
Use In-App Browser ON
All good to go, when a user clicks on the view icon, it opens the document in a new tab.

Mischelle: Thank you so much !!!

Christopher Matthews: Sorry, Christopher I couldn’t add you into my reply to Camille, but it’s below. This is about viewing LOADED PDF’s, not creating PDF’s, as per the original post.

yes pdf viewer would be fantastic. Now I am hosting pdf files somewhere else but running into some trouble with that on Android devices.

yesss we need this!

Hi everyone, This may or may not be helpful to you all, but I was able to get PDF to display very nicely within my app.
I did so by creating a database of the documents I wanted to display, adding a “file” property, and uploaded the PDF to each record.
From there, I inserted a “list” component that displayed the documents, and linked to a separate page, where I used the “web view” component. Within the web view component I selected the document “URL” from the magic text option list. Worked like a charm.

Would be great! specially if it had some customization options with its appearance!

I’m all in!

Our component, document previewer, can be used for simple cases when the document is available from the internet without authorization. It supports PDFs as well.
You can find and install a component to your Adalo app Adalo Component Marketplace

Andy: thats works on for one page, pdf file with multiple pages wont work on mobile

I cannot believe it’s been 4 years and we still don’t have a PDF viewer component when Flutterflow and other no-code app builders do and they work pretty great. It’s one of the core functionalities we need for our app, we’ve been using half-solutions up until now, so I’m deeply frustrated that I’m thinking of regretfully leaving Adalo.
