Time Entry

A drop down feature like date or date and time specifically for reading time off the device and into app logic.

wow great idea!

Hi Alton Wells could you give some examples of how this might be used?

I guess Alton means time off the device: When a user does not use the app for [time], e.g. a notification or reminder appears.

Oh no, on Slack he clarifies: “I need it to trigger notifications and events through zapier for user accounts who select it. Its for a habits app and is really our only way to create reminders. Without it we can’t really have a reoccuring notice.”

Since a simple reminder can be done with Zapier, the missing feature would be the repetition/replay. For this, you would need to have a multi-zap.

So the feature request is in my view:

a) A duration field for an action (“delay action for 2 days”)
b) A repetition field for actions (“repeat action 4 times”)

Ben Haefele: Hey Ben,

I’d like to be able to.

-Have a user select a time as part of an object so that a reminder can be triggered in a zap or better yet just a notification triggered in app.

-Have a time property stored in a collection.

I’ve attached some ref images

Christian Klang: I added some clarity in Bens comment but to follow up i can create the soft logic for time between with date/time collections that track from when to when (I think). But I want to trigger a notification that pops up at a selected time for a collection item that is created by a user.

In use case speak: A user wants to create a reminder to take their vitamins at the same time every day. She opens her app, creates a reminder for “Take Vitamins” and selects “7:00 am” from a dropdown. The next morning the app sends a notification at 7:00 am with a message “Don’t forget to {Trigger Name}, {User Name}”

Alton Wells: Thank you for providing that context. I’m probably going to close this request as it is actually two different features that we already have separate items for:

  1. Additional Database Property Types (including Time) Additional Database Property Types

  2. Scheduled Notifications: Scheduled Push Notifications
