Update: New Location Permission Options When Publishing Android Apps

Google updated its Location Permissions policy on April 15, 2026. Policy announcement :right_arrow: Policy announcement: April 15, 2026 - Play Console Help

To stay compliant, approximate location is now set as the default. If precise location is necessary for your app, you can still enable it by opening the Publish Tab → Android Export Settings → Update Settings. You can also select None, if your app doesn’t use any location features. Republish your app to pick up the change!

Plus, a few other things that got shipped! :raising_hands:

  • Text Container Pro: You can now set a custom color for the Show More/Less button directly in the component settings.
  • Builder — White Screen/Loading Spinner on Open: This issue required a full browser data wipe to resolve, and it is now fixed. The Builder, now loads reliably without any manual intervention.
  • Scheduled Push Notifications: Notifications were silently failing due to a filterAudience is not defined error. Resolved, scheduled notifications should now delivering correctly across all platforms.
