AAPL (not Apple!) made an incredible app for their conference, and I wanted to share it all with you. They did get some help from Kyle on the Adalo team, but I’m super impressed with what they published to the app stores. Please wait until the 3d map component shows at the end!
Looks awesome. It would be useful to have a dedicated space to showcase some published apps that are made using Adalo. Upon the makers permission of course.
The app looks good! And that map component is amazing.
However, I’d like to point out that in general the apps made in Adalo - at least the ones publicly shared - have some opportunities for improvement in terms of UI, and that Adalo could play a role in promoting that and helping builders. Color palettes, buttons, icons (default ones all have sharp corners; both outlined and solid icons would be great), hierarchy and size of elements, etc. The new AI builder could help with that.
Ideally, one of the best things you could do, in my opinion, is to include everything that’s at https://www.flaticon.com/uicons/interface-icons in the icon selection, with the ability to edit colors and - again, ideally - categorized by outlined, solid, bold icons. This would be for the icon component, the icons in the button component, and the navigation components that use icons.
Since I imagine this may not be easy - including in terms of licensing the icons - I would suggest creating a new version of each navigation component - very simple components - such as a new navigation bar, where instead of the icons you could have empty image components and a link to the URL above as a suggestion (the same way the Lottie component suggests the URL).
I haven’t used default navigation components nor icons in a long time. Instead, I make my own version: I either use images, or make rectangles with images and text elements, and go the above mentioned link, or make an image with the icon+text together in Photopea (the Button component I still use but only because the States feature is really useful, but it’s generally only with text and no icons).
This takes a while longer because I have to manually create a new image for every icon state, but I think it’s worth it in terms of the final result.
This I think would really sharpen the appearance of the apps and remove that “this was made with an AI/no-code builder” look.
Additionally, the UI that comes out of the AI builder could promote UI and color schemes best practices, which would set the tone to the maker for the rest of the app.
I think this would be solved after this feature gets published! : Upload own icons (Due to couple of bugs it’s still in-progress as far as I’m aware and James will be able to include more information if needed.)

What the heck is going on!!?? Adalo is getting improve x3 than last year and that’s awesome! Major updates are needed but those.. those are the grains which build up the mountain.
