What do the numbers mean in the screen width and height settings?

I asked this before but never got an answer.

When I set the width/height of a component, what do the numbers represent? Is it pixels, mm, or something else?

And is there any way to use a percentage rather than a fixed number?

I imagine it’s pixels. And the size of a screen represents the viewport in pixels.
