Yes, you can totally build an Adalo app using Xano as your backend.
Here’s the official guide to help you connect Adalo with Xano:
If you want Xano+Adalo setup you must be on the Team or business plan in Adalo. However, you can still use Xano as an external collection if you are on the professional plan.

And yep, the Adalo + Xano setup still works great as long as it’s connected properly. Raise a support ticket if you run into any issues!
Unfortunately, you can’t use Xano as the backend for existing applications as of now, you would need to rebuild the app from scratch for the Adalo + Xano setup.
However, you can still use Xano as an external collection within your existing app if you are on the professional plan or above.
Most of us start with a basic Adalo plan, and as the app develops, we eventually move to the higher-tier plans (which is when we need Xano).** This structure is only relevant for people who start from scratch — and only if they build under the expensive plan from day one.
In the real customer journey, the chances of that happening are close to zero. I’m confident your data supports what I’m saying.
I’d really appreciate it if you’d consider allowing non-from-scratch apps to also connect to Xano — without requiring a manual rebuild from our side (if technically feasible).
Thank you for sharing your perspective, it’s a valid point, and we understand where you’re coming from.

When you move to a Xano backend the front end flows generally need an overhaul.
Yes it’s time consuming but by using Adalo for database initially is so much quicker. It’s a trade off most would accept to get an MVP quickly developed.
Using Xano presents plenty of opportunities to make the app more lightweight, just run as much as you can in Xano.
