Hi Adalo Community,
I’m working on a new feature for my Stump Calculator app that will allow stump grinders to request insurance quotes directly through the app. The feature will use a conditional logic form to tailor questions based on the user’s specific services. Once completed, the data will be sent securely to an insurance agent for a quote.
This got me thinking—what about us as developers? For those of you working as freelance software developers or running small tech projects, do you carry insurance for yourself? If so:
What type of insurance do you have (e.g., professional liability, cyber liability)?
Have you found it helpful or necessary in your work?
Any advice on getting affordable and appropriate coverage?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!
“From Insurance Agent Email”
Please relay to your client that he has a professional and cyber exposure. Once he starts to collect information, he will also have a third-party exposure that if an issue arises, he will be liable for not only his business but also the party whose information he collects and whoever he send the information to (like you). Advise him to get insurance. If he declines, make sure you have it in writing (email).
