If Adalo is able to add some type of conversational AI-powered building interface on top of its current capabilities, it’s going to be unstoppable.
We will get there, but our belief to really enable AI to provide value and not just pull some really generic template together is having the AI first understand the core building blocks of the Adalo platform, inference what makes a performant app (especially from the backend) and THEN create a performance-respecting front-end (for you to curate in the builder, which obviously does an incredible job of letting you mentally parse your app).
We’ve got some really exciting stuff going on around AI-drive performance optimizations. Our CTO, Jason, will have some great news to share soon on this front, and honestly I can’t believe what he’s managed to pull off. Soon we will have possibly a world first in an AI that will systematically go through our millions of databases and optimize indexes, payloads and call structure. Early results we have seen with maker apps has been beyond our expectations.
This will set the foundation for prompt engineering that won’t just flick you some screens with some text and images on it. It will build you a rocket and hand you the keys, then ask if you want to change the red speed stripes to purple. And if you want to tweak things, then it will be as easy as asking the AI, or doing it yourself.
Another great development–the way that Adalo’s code has been written just happens to be extremely easy for AI to understand. This is very fortunate, and absolutely is not the most common case. While other platforms have jumped first and have AI solutions out there, we already know ours will be worth the wait.
