Can I manage YouTube videos like a collection?

Just an idea I’m thinking about, so I thought I’d ask while it’s fresh in my mind.

I’m thinking about creating a YouTube channel, containing videos I want my users to watch through an Adalo app. Users can choose which video to watch, but must eventually watch all videos to progress to the next “level”.

I also want my users to rank videos according to different criteria. The goal is for each user to eventually choose a “most favorite” video through a process of elimination.

My main question (right now) is: will I be able to treat the videos like a collection, even though they are actually external URLs?

Hi @MikesClub,

You can create a collection for videos and add these URL’s as records and then you can make the YouTube component as a list and connect that to the videos collection and for the URL you can add current video > url.

Also you can use the YouTube API to get the videos of your channel using a External collection. : Videos: list  |  YouTube Data API  |  Google for Developers

Thank you

Hi @MikesClub ,
You can, but if you want to make videos private, you need to make the video only available by link share and only let them watch the video in the App itself, since link is shareable.

You can then hide the video and make available via drip content (Time or certain conditions like if previous video was watched already).

Check Vimeo, has great features also for video availability like Password protected.
