I am having a really big issue loading new collections or editing existing collections in the editor.
Issues:
When I add a new external collection from Xano, it is not saving in the editor. If I refresh the page. The collection disappears. The same behavior is happening with edited collections. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Yeah this is happening when I just add a collection. So nothing has changed at all, it just wonāt allow me to add a new external collection, it also wonāt let me automatically add it in Adalo from my authentication collection. I donāt have the ability to change the titles of the collection or columns in Adalo as well.
So itās definitely something else because of what you are saying is true, why canāt I add a new collection?
Iām kind of dead in the water here since I canāt add new collections.
Is it a normal app connected with Xano using external collections or an app built with the Xano integration? Would you be able to share a screen recording showing this behavior for better understanding?
Unfortunately, Adalo will not let me upload a screen recording.
Essentially, itās just adding a new collection, either external or using the built-in tool to import a Xano collection. After I import the collection, itās there and works just fine. I can preview the app and see the collection in a dropdown. But the problem is that when I refresh the editor, it disappears. I was advised to wait 30-40 minutes and not let the screen timeout due to the editor not saving my app changes. That doesnāt seem to work.
My concern is that the Adalo editor is no longer functioning properly and will not save my app correctly. This is a big cause for concern considering that my app is already in use by my clients.
You can upload the screen recording in like Google Drive, Dropbox,.. or screen record via Loom and share the video URL.
I just tried creating a new app through the Xano integration plus connecting a table in Xano as an external collection and it all works great which stays even after refreshing the editor.
Have you tried signing out (profile icon in top right corner > sign out) from your Adalo account and signing back? Or signing back after clearing your Adalo related cache in the browser?
If above doesnāt work, I wonder if it works after you clone the app and try to do the changes there? Have you contacted the Adalo support? If it is, what did they said?

I have a long thread with support. The only thing they are telling me is to try to wait 30-40 minutes and keep resaving the collection so the editor can save properly. They canāt seem to find the issue.
Again, this worries me because cloning and starting over again is a huge task. For some reason, the editor does not work for my collections anymore and I didnāt make any changes in Adalo or Xano. I feel that Adalo might not be a good solution if it has this type of data issue. I can create a new app and of course it works, but I canāt keep creating new apps for an I app I have paying customers for.

I made some changes to my database (added a new text field), and after a half hour of wondering why my data wasnāt showing, found out nothing is currently saving in the database.
Yes, Iāve contacted support, and they are looking into it. Itās been hit or miss with support from my experiences. Iāve had an issue in the past where I couldnāt import csv files, and support said they would look into it. Never heard back. The problem rectified itself somehow weeks later.

Adalo isnāt saving my Xano external collections; the endpoint configuration and fields vanish after I save and refresh.
When I try to submit or update a record in the Adalo App Previewer, I get a āNot Foundā error.
Checking my Xano logs, I see no API request ā because Adalo never sends the call, as the endpoint was never saved in the Adalo Editor.
The collections briefly appear in the Adalo Editor during setup/testing, but after a refresh or navigating away and back, they disappear again.
This problem is blocking me from deploying key tables into my live app.

Iām experiencing the same issue - all external endpoints/collections disappear and disconnect from the app when I refresh or close the browser. Will submit a ticket also.
Hey, Iāve run into that a few times too. It usually happens when Adalo temporarily loses connection with Xano or when the schema changes.
Try refreshing the Xano connection under Database > External Collections and make sure the endpoints are live and publicly accessible.
If it still disappears after saving, clearing cache or switching browsers (like Chrome ā Edge) sometimes fixes it too.
Weāve pushed a fix for the issue with Xano Collections not updating, and it has resolved the problem for most Makers.
That said, we did notice that some apps still appeared to have the issue. Investigating those further found that the root cause turned out to be setup-related rather than a continuing platform bug.
In most cases, this happens when the data being returned from Xano is not formatted correctly for Adalo to read. For example, if the response returns an empty array or the User GetOne Endpoint is not returning the expected data.
