Dragable / Drag and drop list

Hey Adalo Builders!

I’m new to app development and Adalo is my first try at no code or anything related to app building.

I’ve been getting the hang of it over the last couple of weeks which is cool. But one thing I’d love is a dragable list… you know the ones in most apps now where you hold down on an item (eg. List item), it gets selected, then you move it up or down and let go, the item drops into that spot in the new order!

I’ve browsed and searched posts here on the forum but it doesn’t seem like there have been any available - so far anyway.

If anyones working on one or has one near ready as a custom component (or if anyone in Adalo knows if theres one coming to the platform soon) that would be epic!

I know I can make something to reorder list items by priority, Id etc. And/or make up and down arrows to move them - or buy a premade version, and if I have to.. I will, but thats not my ideal choice.

Putting the feelers out just incase!

I wish you all the best in your app design and building journeys. Any info appreciated, TIA.

Jarrad.

Ps.

Im also curious:
When using custom components (created external to adalo), eg, a list. Is it still possible to customize parts of the custom component - say like you do in a custom list? Move stuff around change image sizses etc. Or because the component is created outside adalo, it just is what it is with certain feilds as they are with no customization?

Havent used a custom component yet.

Thanks!

Hey Jarrad,

Right now, Adalo doesn’t support drag-and-drop reordering of list items out of the box. As you mentioned, you can reorder items using fields like priority, ID, or buttons (e.g. up/down arrows).

There is support for custom lists where you can fully design the layout using components and Magic Text. But once a custom component is built outside Adalo (like with React Native), it’s generally not customizable inside the Adalo editor beyond the exposed fields. You have to get in contact with developers of custom components to get more info.

Hope this helps and good luck building!

Hey Shipra,

Thanks for the quick response and for the confirmation.

And it’s great to know ahead of time a bit of information about whats involved with the custom components.

I appreciate the help,

Thanks,
Jarrad
