Google AdMob Setup Issues and Experiences - resulted in closed account

Hi everyone. I’m new to the forum and have been working to build my app with Adalo since July 24. My app has two sides, subscription based for people who list services and free, with ads for general app users. It’s not launched yet, but I’ve been working through the necessary steps and have it in internal testing on Apple and Google Play… all good so far. Now, I have added AdMob to the app, with an AdMob account approved, then made sure that I added the campaign app IDs and specifically used the test ad IDs found here Enable test ads | Android | Google for Developers and here Enabling test ads | iOS | Google for Developers. All seemed fine. Web preview is correct and shows a placeholder, Apple and Google apps in test, both show test ads, with Android showing overlays of “Test Ad” and IOS showing “Test mode” on the ads themselves. I have not clicked on any of those ads…

I thought I had set it up as required, then a day or two later, Google AdSense sent me an email to say “Your Google Publisher Account has been disabled”! I completed the appeal form, explaining that my app is in testing and I have used test Google Ad IDs - which I also sent them. I thought nothing more of it, as surely my explanation was genuine and understandable. I don’t think that I did anything wrong. I hadn’t published my ad campaigns and old test ads were being used.

Apparently not. Today, I have received an email with the following wording:

Hello,
Thank you for your appeal. We appreciate your continued interest in our program. However, after taking into consideration the information that you have provided, we have confirmed that we are unable to reinstate your publisher account.
Please note that your account will not receive further payments. You are not eligible for further participation in our publisher programs, and may not create new accounts.
Thank you for understanding.

Sincerely,
The Google Ad Traffic Quality Team

I mean… what now?? Is this a joke Google! (clearly it isn’t).
So, not only do you not give a full explanation of why I’m being blocked, but I’m completely disregarded, with a hand held up in schoolboy fashion, to say “nope, you can’t appeal this decision”. That’s insane. No way to resolve the issue, or create a new account.

Basically, I’m ranting here because I believe that I followed the instructions to integrate AdMob with Adalo, but something has caused, seemingly irreparably, AdMob policy violation.

Has anyone else experienced this please? Did you ever manage to resolve it? I have lost the potential of monetizing my app, without, as far as I can tell, ever actually doing anything wrong!

Thank you
Tony

Hi Tony, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re facing with your AdMob account. It sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after all the effort you’ve put into setting everything up correctly.

Unfortunately, it seems like Google AdSense has strict policies and sometimes their decisions can be final, even if it feels unfair. You might want to reach out to Google AdSense support again, explaining disneyhub your situation in more detail and asking if there’s any additional information or steps you can take to resolve this.

In the meantime, have you considered exploring other ad networks or monetization strategies for your app? It might be worth looking into alternatives to ensure you can still generate revenue.

I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck with your app development!

There are some rules you have to follow when you want to monetize your apps trough AdMob. If you don’t follow them, your account can be suspended or banned.

Just some examples

Non-obtrusive placement: Ads should not hinder the user’s ability to navigate the app or interact with its core functions.

Contextually relevant: Try to place ads in areas that are relevant to the app’s content.

Frequency: Avoid overwhelming users with too many ads

Thank you for your comment @Eugen. I don’t think that would have been an issue in this case, but who knows! The lack of an actual reason from Google doesn’t help. I had only placed the test ads with one at the bottom of the home screen list, one in the same location on a secondary screen and a small banner at the top of a profile creation screen. My app has over 130 screens and i wasn’t planning to place ads on those. Thought i was actually being quite conservative with the placement. I appreciate the input though, thank you.
