How to create an AppYet-style app in Adalo (RSS reader + IPTV + live radio)

Hi Adalo team and community :waving_hand:

I’m trying to build an app similar to AppYet, which works as an RSS reader and also includes live media — like IPTV (.m3u8), online radios, and podcasts — all in one app made with Adalo.

Here’s what I want the app to include:

  • Automatic RSS updates from multiple websites, showing the latest news daily;

  • Different menus and screens for:

    • :newspaper: News feeds (organized by categories like Politics, Sports, Tech, etc.);

    • :headphone: Podcasts (a daily updated list of podcast episodes via RSS or direct links);

    • :television: Live TV channels (using m3u8 links);

    • :radio: Online radio streams;

  • Option to open full articles in a webview or show a summary inside the app;

  • Ideally, background updates for RSS feeds and podcasts, so the app refreshes automatically.

My questions are:

  1. Can Adalo handle automatic daily RSS and podcast updates (without the user needing to refresh manually)?

  2. How can I integrate live TV (m3u8) and radio streams inside Adalo?

  3. Is there any plugin, external API, or workaround that can help combine RSS, podcasts, and live media in one app?

If anyone has tried a similar setup or knows of examples, templates, or tutorials, please share! :folded_hands:

Hey Mario,
I’ve worked on something quite close to this before. Adalo can handle parts of it, but for full automatic RSS and media updates, you’ll likely need an external tool like Make or Zapier to sync data daily. m3u8 and radio streams can work through a custom component or embedded player. Happy to guide you through what setup works best.
