The newest building blocks in Adalo have arrived: Sections!
Sections are pre-built groups of components that are styled, designed, and laid out to work perfectly across all screen sizes. The best part — all you have to do is drag & drop them onto your screen, hook up your data, & voila!
With over 200 custom-designed sections, your apps have never looked better & in such a short amount of time
We’ve created Sections for almost anything you can think of:
Sure, we’ve designed over 200 sections for your convenience in designing & building, but we also know you’re creative & have the perfect design in mind — for that, we have our empty section!
With the Empty Section, you’re now able to control your app design better than ever.
Remember when you would put a background rectangle around your components to ensure they all would maintain their spacing??! Not any more!
Use the Empty Section to more granularly control how your components move together and respond to all screen sizes (even if you’re only creating a mobile app!).
But that’s not all —
We’ve made some major quality-of-life improvements to use while building:
The Quick-Add Menu: quickly add the most used elements of building, whether that’s text, an image, a section, or an entirely new screen.
Universal Search : find anything you need for the building experience. Our new search experience allows you to find components, feature templates, sections, and more — making building a breeze
This is a really great feature. Well done Adalo! Personally I like that I can start with a certain look/inspiration from Adalo and tweak to suit. Exactly like I operate in Canva…
Really nice… you should enable people to create their own and upload to the Marketplace for a small price to other users that would be cool
This should 10x newbie makers and even experienced makers!
Great! I can’t wait to dive into all this, but I do have a question: today is May 1st, where is Adalo on the API issue with Apple App Store? Has this issue been solved?
Thanks
Jason D.
Lovely that you guys are developing templates, but this is clearly a feature for beginners. Where are the new components? It’s been two years of the same 7 lists. Nobody should have to pay $60+ dollars per month on a pro account and then have to pay an extra $30 for a two state list.
Great question! We have updated everything that is known on our end regarding the new guidelines from Apple. While we have covered all the justifications on our end, there may be one-off cases where you’re using a unique API in your component that we will have to handle if Apple rejects your app.
If you’re still running into issues related to Apple rejecting your app, you will receive an email from Apple mentioning this: ITMS-91053: Missing API declaration.
In this case, please submit a support ticket with the information contained in the email related to the above “Missing API Declaration,” so our team can further troubleshoot the issue.
While this feature is helpful for folks who have not yet built an entire app, we think the ability to design screens quickly is a big win for everyone (whether it’s your first or your 50th app).
You mentioned two-state lists as a component request — what other components do you think would be advantageous for us to invest in?
On the weekend, I accidentally accessed some crazy new features, it looked like, and don’t quote me on this, like Adalo is about to allow us to link any screen to any data from any collection, is this upcoming? what did I glance at on the weekend by accident? it was gone a few seconds later lol but I got excited.
