I’m building an app that helps people connect.
A critical piece of functionality for this app is a QR code contact sharing feature, where:
- Each user is given a unique QR code upon app sign up with their user ID or invite link.
- Another user scans the QR code and the scanned user is automatically added as a new contact record.
Online, I saw mentions that Adalo had a native QR code generator component but I don’t see it offered anymore. I see a couple paid components, but there is limited info on them so I’m wary to download one without guidance.
I’m looking for help with:
Generating a QR code dynamically for each user and showing it on a screen in their app.
Enabling another user to scan the QR code within the Adalo app to extract the user’s ID.
Automatically adding the user as a new contact in the scanner’s account
Nice to have: Ability to scan the QR code on a cellphone camera without the Adalo app installed, leading the scanner to the App Store to download the app.
