Relative Date Format Issue Needs Clear Communication and Resolution

I’ve been a loyal Adalo user for over 4 years, on the Business Plan, with 8 apps published. My apps rely heavily on the relative date format for core features like lists and chat functionalities.

However, in the past month or two, this “Relative Data Format” feature has broken. For example, instead of displaying “4 days ago,” it now shows something like “2024-10-08T00:00:00:000Z.”

I reached out to Adalo support over 2 weeks ago and was told, “We are aware of this issue, and our development team is working on it. I do not have a specific time on when this may get resolved”

While I appreciate that the team is aware, the lack of a specific timeline is deeply concerning. It’s crucial for my business to know when this will be resolved. Vague responses leave us in limbo, and it’s incredibly frustrating when we’re not asking for a new feature; just for an essential, previously working feature to be fixed.

Not knowing if this will be fixed next week, next month, or next year, or ever… makes it impossible to push updates to all my apps. Builds made before September 2024 work fine, but I can’t roll out new updates until this issue is addressed since relative dates don’t work on newer builds.

Please, Adalo team, provide a more concrete update or at least a clear timeframe. As business owners, we rely on Adalo to keep our apps running smoothly, and we deserve clear communication about critical issues like this.

I hope the new CEO gets to see this and pushes the team to fix it sooner.

Thank you.

@james.crennan please can you assist with this one? I’m publishing my first app, which I intend to be the basis of my business venture and after 5 months of learning/working with Adalo, encountering this issue when publishing is very frustrating (along with obvious speed issues when compared with the web preview on IOS and Android - I realise that’s something you’re working to address). As you can see from this screenshot from Android, the relative date error looks ugly. Thank you

Hey all–roger, let me get back to you on this issue ASAP.

Hi @joe,

Apologies for this experience! We had sent a response requesting additional information during our troubleshooting process (after the last response you got) but it seems like our email did not reach you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we’re looking into it and we will get in touch with you via DM.

@Astha Indeed, I never received the earlier email (it could have gone to the spam folder or something). I’ve now responded to your email and DM. Looking forward to getting this issue resolved!

Hey @here,

The team is working on a fix but it is related to language settings in the device. So far we have confirmed in UK English but cannot identify any other languages where this is present. Can you share the languages of phones that you are seeing this is so we can ensure we cover any others that we have missed.
