Starter plan screen web link worked yesterday but not today

I have a text box property on a screen. I populate it with a magic text value of a url from the screen collection passed from the prior screen. Click action on the text box to link to the web site from the box value. It was working perfectly yesterday. Doesn’t work today.
I’ve tried different formats for the url (https://www.monkeyworld.com. with iterations reducing prefix characters down to monkeyworld.com, sorry there is a limit of 2 urls in these posts). Any of these would work yesterday. Today none. On click, I get a brief revolving circle at the right end of the text box, then nothing more.
I’ve tried different urls that are live. I’ve tried deleting the link, and recreating it. I’ve tried deleting the check box property, and re-adding it and relinking it. I’ve tried deleting the source property from the database collection, and readding it with a different name. I’ve developed running under Windows 10, then also tried same app running under openSuse linux. Same result, nothing. same result whether via View App/Staging Preview or View App/Share your test app generated url, on my laptop or on android mobile. Therefore I conclude it ia app related, not OS/machine related. I’m out of ideas. What to do?

Welcome to the forum!
I’ve tried to replicate your issue with the knowingly working domain (https://www.google.com) and it works for me.
Therefore:

  • you can try testing using a different URL and see if it works or not (to see if the issue is site-related)
  • you can try checking / unchecking “use in-app browser” in the ‘external link → Advanced’
  • you can try displaying url as a text label and ensure it is available on the screen (to make sure that the data is available)

Also, providing some screenshots may help other forum users to give more hints.

Jessi from Adalo answered my post yesterday with a solution. It is now working ok. Thanks for your attention. I still don’t know how I corrupted things to make it stop working, but now all is good.
