I want to sync contacts saved on a user’s phone (iOS / Android) into my Adalo app and display them in a list.
I already tried purchasing a Contact List component from the Adalo Marketplace, but it did not work for accessing or syncing the device’s native contacts.
I’ve seen similar forum posts from 2020 and 2021 saying this wasn’t possible at the time.
Has there been any update or change since then?
You’re referring to Jimmy’s contact list component right? So the component doesn’t work anymore as it should be? Based on my experiences, it worked (only in native apps) but had few issues with the right icon and not sure if that got fixed because didn’t tested it recently. It just display the contacts and doesn’t store/add into a collection in the dB unless you add a create action into the list.
Yes, that’s correct — it’s Jimmy’s component.
Understood. I’ll test it in the native version.
Just to confirm my understanding:
This feature is meant to sync the phone number list stored on the user’s iPhone/Android device and create a contact list, right?
Then, after that, the goal is to add another component so the user can send invite messages to each of those phone numbers.
@Yuki.O, you could add an action to the right icon that component gives to send the invite which would be a custom action. As far as I’m aware, the component retrieves the contacts from the device and displays them in the screen. (This component is similar to the one that Pragmaflow built : Phone Contact List)
@njimmy10 would be able to share some more information here, thank you and have a great day!
