Alternative to QR codes for proving a user has visited a physical location?

Hi. I am building an app where I need to prove a user has visited a physical location (in this case a gym). I was planning on printing out a QR code, putting it in the gym reception and using the QR scanner in adalo to allow a user to check-in / register. However as the adalo QR scanner component only works in a native phone app I am keen to find another solution so I can keep the final product as web app only. I would really appreciate it if anyone has ideas for ways to validate that a user has visited a certain location that can work on adalo. Thanks!

There is one for web on this website for $30 https://components.adalomatic.com/
