I’m trying to make it so a user can have a favorite user but only one and make the user who chose their favorite player able to change it which data function do I set it as. or is their a different way I should do it. 1 user can only have 1 favorite user. but 1 favorite user can be favorited by many users

What you need it is database consultation and the requirement would be thorough use cases, user journeys and example data.
If you want to extend a bit, reporting and journaling can be included, but that would complicate the matters.
But to invest those kind of activities require focus which is rare commodity for those who already have assignments in their hands.
