Has anybody built a library checkout system with Adalo?

We operate a tools library, where members can check out tools just like borrowing a book from a library.

We currently record checkouts using a paper log. But I want to make this a function on my Adalo app. Each member (user) will have a bar code or QR code on his/her profile screen. When the user checks out a tool, I want to a) scan the user’s barcode and b) scan the barcode on the tool. This should record who borrowed which tool.

Ideally we would scan the user’s barcode by holding their phone up to a reader.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has done anything similar, or from anyone who might have suggestions on how to make this work. I’m starting from scratch.

Thanks so much as always!
