Porting from Slack.
Use case:
- show current month on screen.
- Show monthly sales
- Show yearly sales
if we can have month(date) and year(date) functions, we can use it in our mathematical formulas for various purposes.
Porting from Slack.
Use case:
Building apps for business people, they tend to like to know whats happening the in the current financial period. Right now, we can only pick a how many days ago we want to show the data for, rather than from a certain date.
Would be great to have in the Date/Time value āCurrent Monthā, āCurrent Yearā

I wish features like this were higher priority. This is basic functionality and it is desperately needed. Makes using Adalo for building business apps a real chore (still worth it fwiw..) BUT, seriously - not everyone is out here building toy apps and cloning already existing or single-function apps (like uber, airBnB, schedulers, etc.) for micro-market use⦠Some of us are trying to build robust, multi-faceted tools to manage businesses. Still love Adalo though, donāt get me wrong guys. Itās just annoying to see features coming down the pipe like āfilter by proximityā, when You literally still canāt filter by ālast Monthā or ācurrent year-to-dateā⦠And, Iām not actually a ārealā developer, but man it seems like it would be WAY easier and faster to enrich Adalo with all of these random sorely missed basic functionalities than something as robust as location-based filtering and sorting. Priorities??

Tyler Tilton: I agree with everything you wrote!
Also the management of before and after times are limiting, I donāt understand why it is not possible to be able to choose oneās range through simple summation formulasā¦
Davide Soncin: Yes, and the fact that basic functionality and performance is foregone in favor of dumb stuff like āai database table creationā (who actually needs that??) Is why I abandoned my 2k hrs+ of work in Adalo 8 months ago to build on a more robust and sensible platform. And let me tell you what - breath of fresh air, 100% worth it, laugh at myself for throwing so much good money after bad trying to make Adalo āworkā for all those many monthsā¦
Tyler Tilton: I understand very well. I also spent a lot of time on Adalo, on the one hand I really like his simplicity, on the other hand it lacks obvious things. Responsive management in my opinion is unsuccessful, uncontrollable and malfunctioning. To know, which platform are you currently focussed on?
Without these features, creating any chart or graph is impossible. Meaning we canāt build dashboard or any summary element.
Would this solves? : š Launched: New Date Formats
Thank you and have a great day!
