New Responsive App

Hello guys,

I have seen that my app is labeled as a “Legacy Responsive App” by Adalo.

If I want a "new responsive app”, I have to save it as a new copy and copy the database as well.

I think this is necessary because I would also like to see how the app behaves on different devices, which is not really possible with the old version. The new version also contains a lot more features that I can use for the app.

However, Adalo says: You will need to adjust the settings in the Layout panel for each component in your app.

What exactly needs to be changed in the layout for it to work correctly?
Is it difficult to change this? And what problems do you see with this change or maybe in Publishing in the App- or Play- Store?

I appreciate any helpful comments, as I don’t know whether I should continue working on the old legacy responsive app?

Kind regards and thank you in advance

Philipp

It means that, as a Responsive App, you’ll have to choose how - and if - you want each component to be shown in Mobile, Tablet and Desktop.

I think Adalo adjusts it automatically, but you’ll want to see the final result and make your own adjustments.

I often prefer to have 3 groups of components per screen (Mobile, Tablet and Desktop), specially when it’s a screen with a certain amount of components, or custom components, to make sure the final result is good.

If you don’t want it to be shown in Desktop and thus don’t want to worry about configuring each component for Desktop view, just go to Publish - Web App - Show desktop users: Mobile App Preview.
