Subject: Search collection with a true/false condtion. filters not working correctly

What do you expect to be happening?: i have a search page in my app with multiple search fields to search from. but my collection has a true or false property. when you go to the search and type in either an input or a make or location or a combination. i want only items that match the search that are true.
What is actually happening?: i have set the filter to narrow the items and added to the filter “and are true”. but when you search it show all the other items that are true aswell that have nothing to do with the search input. i want it to only show items searched for. eg. when you search and there is nothing matching your search input it should show an empty screen but it shows all items that a true.
