Should I keep building or wait for Ada?

I have not tried Ada, yet.

Should I keep building, or wait?

Is this Ai going to complete tasks with 3rd parties, like Make?

AND

How will Ai affect the Adalo component marketplace? Outdated?

Hi @C3PO,

AI Ada is an assistant to help you while you build your app through the Adalo builder! Replied on the main thread mentioning how you can try AI Ada.

That’s where Functions Hub truly shines!! It will be avaiable after shipping AI Ada. Read more here on James topic. : New release! Adalo 3.0 is here!

There will be lot of new & free components avaiable very soon and if you’ve turned on this toggle, you will see the components in the marketplace that’s fully supported based on that toggle. If you want to develop a custom component by yourself, Cursor & Claude can help you!

Thank you and have a great day!

Just an observation:

Lots and lots of features and jargon.

Thanks for addressing concerns. seems like we’re waiting on the next feature, … as usual.

Not angry. Not snarky. I’m a big fan. I know, you know. I’m just saying. It’s the same answer.

The speed updates are fantastic.

Thanks, again. Happy New Year.

The simplest answer in regards to starting now or waiting for Ada. I am in the Ada beta. Ada can build new solutions and help you update existing solutions as far as I can tell. So if you start now, she may be able to help you when she is rolled out.

In regards to Make, I would love a feature like that built into Adalo. That’s how Bubble (another drag and drop builder) does it. Even then, I see people still utilizing Make/ Zapier/ n8n.

Those are my unofficial observations.

Happy to add you to the beta @C3PO! Just let me know.

We’re working on Function Hub, but it is taking a backseat to implementing all the great feedback we are getting on Ada from our beta testers.

Apologies for the jargon. Let me be clear: Ada is our engineering priority right now. Function Hub is something that will bring much of Make’s capabilities in house. We know that’s important, but our focus has to remain on Ada for now. We will get to Function Hub, but I’m personally learning engineering focus is key, and I’ve been guilty of setting too many competing priorities.

Got it. Appreciate you taking time out to clarify.

Well, My app isn’t too complex. Just looking for a reliable database structure.

I am confident that I can come up with one that works. It would be a shame to miss out a better, faster, structure.

Probably less than 10 collections, and 20ish screens.

Whatever you think. Happy to test / use.

We’re mostly basing Ada off of OSS models. We’re doing our best to not be another burst-token-there-goes-my-wallet solution.

Ada is an good tool, but for it to reach its full potential it needs more capabilities. The advantage of a tool like Adalo is that you can rely on things not being broken. I’m not saying it should write code or create things out of thin air, but it does need more power to enable building bigger things.

Yep, we know. We’ve looked at what other app builders have for AI solutions and we were determined to create something that can work reliably. The reddit feedback is quite damning. So we’re going to ramp up capability but first needed to ensure it can handle simple things first. If you have specific feedback, we can add it straight into the Ada development pipeline.
