@james.crennan I’ve been a glide user and expert for quite a few years now. I’ve tried to revisit Adalo several times. The moves you’re talking about will make a believer out of me. Thanks in advance for your investment in what I hope will be an amazing tool in the arsenal of no-code/low-code.

I have a question If I am a paying customer and my account has been moved to the new system? Is there a reason why the system is still calculating app actions also are we still suppose to see that when we click settings in the builder. I guess I am just confused If it was removed and my account was updated to the new system why do I still see the app actions?
@kdy294 - all paying databases (that means all apps within a paying account) have now been moved to our new infrastructure, so yes, you’re moved 
App actions - the mechanism of app actions will remain in your builder (as a trigger) but the logging of each app action and tallying into a total count to be charged against your account (if above your plan quota) will be removed. At the moment, this is still running.
The pricing around app actions will be removed from every plan. New plans will also become available probably around end of Jan at this stage, and no one will be force migrated. These new plans will also not have app action charges.
But the removal of ‘app actions’ I talk about is just the charge, not the actual builder mechanism that every single Adalo app relies upon–because that would literally break everything! I know you didn’t ask that, but I had some calls today asking about it, and want to be clear.

Hi James , what do you exactly mean for EU based ?! I’m an enthusiast adalo makers and I love what I do. I developed a very nice WebApp for the company I work for and they congratulated with me. So I need to migrate this app to the company one. I’ll be happy to work with you for years …I make them buy an annually plan for 5 published apps ( team) and I I need to be in touch with you as soon as possible. Have a good day

Hi all - thanks for writing in! I’ll answer each question:

Adalo 3.0 - all paying customers have been migrated to new infrastructure (all in the US) and anyone that wants to be on our EU based infrastructure can write to me to request to move to our EU infrastructure. There is no email for this aside from mine - james.crennan@adalo.com and I’ll collate an internal list. As for the 3x speed of apps we are striving for, we continue to work with founders to help adjust many blockers to speed beyond the database / backend queries. For instance, we’ve found significant speed improvements switching from custom lists to simple lists, and implementing limits on API calls to load a long table with lots of data has changed app performance completely for some. We have much longer to go here, and this is a bigger climb than I first thought, but we’re going to get there. The new year will have lots of updates on performance (our performance documentation is growing as our team add to it).

Deep linking eta - I don’t have an ETA. Speed is our number 1 priority and we won’t shift focus until we solve it. This is a ‘Elon Musk sleeping on the factory floor’ style problem - speed will be solved!

Free databases being deleted - please, if you wish to maintain your data, subscribe to Maintenance Mode. We can’t continue to operate the millions of dbs we are running for free plans. If you don’t switch, your data will be caught up in the infrastructure deactivation.

I’ve just created an account a few days ago and started building my app on the free plan.
From what I’m seeing, this will all go to waste if I’m not either switching to maintenance or a starter plan ? I didn’t get any email about it.
I was looking into the billing prices and I’m relieved to know that app counting won’t be part of the new plans, that’s what stopped me from getting the starter plan !
I’m excited to see what comes next.

Adalo is very simple to build with and everyone wanting to use a nocode builder will not ignore adalo. But the problem is, no one can build a social media app on adalo because of the cost it comes with unless you are already a multimillion company due to the cost on actions. I can’t move from adalo and I am unable to stay in adalo due to this cost. it will be a privilege to me and many other users if billing will base on any other category other than actions. Please help us out.

Is exporting code something on your mind?
@Elodie, that’s correct. We were going to sunset free plan databases last year, but we pushed it to this year because no one needed all that happening during a low tempo period. We will be releasing a 3 month free trial to replace the free plan, and are working on releasing a Google Sheets free plan as well. Timing TBC.
@hommie - App Actions is getting removed. From the code. On all plans. Soon.
@nadavma2 - yes, Code Export is something we will achieve. It has to be done. AI is going to be a big help here. This will come after performance and releasing some of our very cool new things - including adding any 3rd party data source into your app via DreamFactory.
It’s great to be back. We’ve proof that our new databases, database indexing and a few performance improvements (such as not calculating formulas inside of lists, and using simple lists where possible) have dramatic speed improvements. We will have more to say on this, including a free tool in every app where you can check your speed. I intend to give you AI chat that can also help you implement speed improvements. I’ll give everyone another update soon!

I can say only my personal opinion for making Adalo much more powerful. Integrate supaBase. It’s perfect solution for Adalo (SQL DB). If you will have supaBase, u will have one of the strongest DB in the world. U won’t have any problems to build real-time chats and so on (if I remember clear Xano isn’t real-time DB). I guess only fireBase maybe is a little bit better, but it’s big question. Second improvment - delay every hard action at the start of app. Don’t know why I don’t see such solution in any platforms.

Can you explain what it is to users without a technical background?
i am using adalo since 2021, i am facing issues with my app preformance specially with android devices, even when i start using xano as backend, still the app performance an issue.
my users are in middle east, and i have more thatn 1000 users, what if my app reached 2000 or 3000 or higher, what will happen,
i dont recommend adalo any more,
soon i am leaving, its waste of money.
Why don’t write this in the apposite group?! Why such a developer like you with 4 years of experience make this mistake ?? Uhmmm it sounds like you’re spamming in general like a troll !
