Android 15 (API level 35) or higher

**I updated and released “new” app to Google 19d ago, still got this message!

App must target Android 15 (API level 35) or higher**

Status

  • You won’t be able to release app updates (1 day away)

Date sent

Jul 1, 2025

Deadline

  • Nov 1, 2025

  • Extension granted

To provide users with a safe and secure experience, Google Play requires all apps to meet target API level requirements.

From Nov 1, 2025, if your target API level is not within 1 year of the latest Android release, you won’t be able to update your app.

How to fix

Your highest non-compliant target API level is Android 14 (API level 34).

To ensure that you can continue to make updates to your app you must:

  1. Update your app to target Android 15 (API level 35) or higher.

  2. Publish a new version of your app to production. Before you do this, you can test your app using internal, closed, or open testing.

Go to Releases overview

Once you’ve done this, we’ll send you an Inbox message to confirm that your app update was successful, and that your app is no longer affected.

Hi @Genci,

Welcome to the community!

You pushed a new build for production and Google approved but still showing the same message? If you were testing the app with a internal testing track, open testing, closed testing, you need to push new builds in those places also or you could pause those tracks.

Also there’s a new update that you should follow too! : IMPORTANT: Republish your Android apps by November 1, 2025

Thank you and have a great day!
