If a modal appears from a long list, then a button has a “back” action, the website scrolls all the way up to the beginning of the list, causing the user to have to scroll back down to their location.
This is only a problem on the desktop version, not mobile.
Any ideas on how to fix?

Maybe you could strategically place the modal-generating item higher up the page if it’s a big enough issue for you? Tradeoffs…
