Copying text on Android (and iOS?)

Hi all,

I’d like my users to be able to copy text from within a text element (not an input). On the ‘Edit Styles’ menu, I’ve checked ‘Copyable’ so I think I should be able to copy the text. But all I get is an error like the below, when using the Android Previewer.

I tried long-press and tap.

Any ideas?

Also, I’ve tried to copy on my Desktop webapp ‘mirror’ of my app, and have set the text to be copyable as well. Trying to copy involves the really not-normal long-clicking of the mouse - @jeremy or @Ben could this be addressed? Copying should just involve highlighting and pressing Ctrl+C. Or otherwise provide a ‘Copy’ button/action, which would be amazing!.

But even when I get the little ‘Copy’ bubble and click it, it doesn’t actually load the text into the clipboard. This is a key part of my app - please let me know what can be done.

I’m also having this issue on the PWA of a web app, not sure about the iOS version.

Hey @parker it looks like im seeing the same issue on the PWA of my app but it’s copyable on the same version of that in iOS so it looks like it’s an isolated issue with PWAs. created a Triage dev ticket for it to get fixed. thanks for catching this.

I have a free solution, thanks

I have the same issue. And although I have released my app on the App Store and Google Play, it is still copyable. Does anyone solve this issue?

Any solution or workaround for this? Having the same issue, can’t copy text.

Seems like quite a few people also have this issue, mind sharing your free solution?

40$ ? :sweat_smile::sweat_smile::joy::joy::joy:

Well if you have a small idea about that work you would’ve said nothing, but unfortunately you know nothing. If you don’t like the price you can keep your comments to yourself, and btw pf course i am not doing them for people like you coming here judging. Small minded people. And also you can ask some people how mamy components i gave for free, so if you can’t afford it just tell me to give for free i don’t mind helping you

I already bought it for $9 at complab. but thank you all the same, you are generous… that said at $40 the component, we can understand why! :grin:

Glad you did, now we can stop complaining :slightly_smiling_face:

You can use the HTML/Webview component of Pragmaflow Inline HTMl/CSS/Javascript to build a button that does just that with Magictext. Unfortunately I am on a business trip at the moment. I will be happy to share the code when I return next week

Hi Everyone,

I also did something like this with the Better Webview component made by Pragmaflow! We can do many things with that! Thanks a lot for making that Pragmaflow!

Here’s the code that I have added inside the component :

Copied from here and I edited a bit.

<!DOCTYPE html>
  font-family: 'Oswald', sans-serif;
p {

<link href='' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

<script src=""></script>

<p id="p1">name</p>

<button onclick="copyToClipboard('#p1')">Copy</button>

function copyToClipboard(element) {
  var $temp = $("<input>");

In here replace the name with the magic text!
And don’t paste this code directly to the component. When you’ll try to paste the code you’ll will see a text that say encode from here. Click Here and you’ll will go to a site and you’ll can add this code there. Then press Encode and you’ll will get the encoded result. Then copy that result and paste it in the component and find the place where the name is located in the encoded result ( you’ll can give it a short name to find it easier. Like Na ) and replace there with magic text.

After encoding ( added the encoded result too, if you’ll doesn’t need to encode ) :

In here replace the na with magic text! ( You can find it on here in the encoded result : 3D%22p1%22%3Ena%3C% )

See it here in action ( Clonable too ):

Just adding another three examples that you can use this component : Some Tips and Tricks by this Semi Noob! 😅 ( In here Tip 19 , 20 and 21 )

Love to see the Michael’s Code too!

Hope this will work greatly!

Thank you
