My user database is at 12,800 people.
I guess I’m simply frustrated with how poorly this is all hacked together.
These read like tutorials. No code people are learning the absolute worst practices this way.
Well I didn’t quite get from your message that you are NOT using built-in MAX method. If you’re storing max value elsewhere and only increase it - then it should work.
Keep in mind though that custom actions tend to fail silently (even if you get 500, the action flow continues). This could be the reason for mistakes.
I’ve asked for return code value a year ago, still waiting:)
In regards to “bad tutorials” - in my opinion there are 2 options: sit, complain and do nothing, or try to find some workaround.
And workarounds on this forum helped a lot of people. Not everyone had 12K records, so in a lot of cases these workarounds are very useful.
I didn’t say they were bad tutorials. Tutorials to solve something short term are normal in all software.
The tutorials on this forum enable Adalo to do nothing, though.

That’s not hacking together a system.
That’s an abandoned system.
I agree with you. No idea why it is not available. Without userID or (any other collection ID) using external services become nearly impossible since you can not query and get the specific object.
