[SOLUTION] How to allow user to delete image from a record

Hi,

I have seen that there is a problem when a user wants to delete image for particular record → there is just no option to update image field to blank.

I want to share solution for the problem:

1. Setup two properties for image in collection. First with image (let’s call it just “Image to show”, second functional which should be blank (“blank property”).
2. Setup button to delete image. On click update item by changing “Image to show” to “blank property”.

That should allow user to delete image from record

Great finding, me too were struggling with this.

I did another try, and it works [Screen Recording 2021-04-23 at 12.27.34 PM] The way I did it is have 2 image property, the first is the original picture, the second is filled with image too, but this is image used as image placeholder. And just replace the first picture property with the second. But for every user, we need to fill this second property image, so it will consume the storage.

Delete from the Samsung Gallery app and it will not get deleted in the cloud.

Delete from Google Photos and it will get deleted in the cloud.

Use “free up device space” in the Google Photos settings and it will not get deleted in the cloud.

Also, go to the library tab and look for Downloads. Click the picture to enter the Downloads folder and you will find a switch to disable the backup of that folder.
