Sports league app feasibility

hello experts!

Is it possible to build a sports league app with the following collections:

Multiple leagues

each league will have multiple seasons

each season will have multiple teams and tournaments

each tournament will have multiple games
each team will have multiple players

each player will have multiple stats

the app will have thousands to millions of users

i believe its possible i was making something like this for Nba2k League and at the end i got stuck on something and deleted the app…

But i do believe it is possible… about the millions of users i think will be a problem i dont think adalo have the power yet. The app will get slow eventually for so much data you putting.

My 2 cents: that depends on the app functionality but with proper approach Adalo can handle 10000s of records in collections. At a certain point of time it might be a good idea to move from Adalo’s built-in database to external one like Xano.
AFAIK @iAppsNi has built similar app and probably he could share some insights.

Best,
Victor.

Hey Guys, thanks for the tag Victor! Yes I have a league app built and fully functional using Adalo. It’s called TTLeagues

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttleagues.android&hl=en_GB

iOS: ‎Table Tennis Leagues on the App Store

It currently is used for most of the Table Tennis Leagues in Ireland for the last 3 seasons, without very many issues. It is fully self managed, requested to Add Players, League Admins, Team Admins, AI Reports, Auto League Tables, Auto Player tables, Stories. Everything you would expect from a league App. The feedback from the roughly 3k-4k users is really positive.

My only doubt would be for 100,000+ users you would really need to make sure you think about the database etc and relationships - I can say I don’t have an App on Adalo with 100k plus users so I can’t comment. I do however have 3 or 4 apps with 20k+ users and the app works smooth on IOS, a little laggy in Android.

Not sure this helps much but my league app has had a very positive impact and removed huge amounts of Admin. Thanks :folded_hands:

Thank you for the responses. I’m trying to build a basketball league app similar to NBA app and FIBA livestats.

One feature I need is a countdown timer with pause function to represent the time remaining for each quarter.

I believe that if you speak with jason and james they’ll be able to find a solution for you. From what I’ve seen, Adalo in its current form is focused on performance, and they’d likely be happy to help with that. You’ll probably need some external components since there are features Adalo is still missing, but in terms of performance, I think Jason and James would be glad to assist you.
