I’m having the same issue. The tab bar is snapped to the bottom.
I’m launching an app with all screens’s status bar hidden to “fix” the flying nav bar bug
(Very ugly)
Hiya do you have a share so we can see how this works? Looks modern and elegant
It looks like rectangle with icons and icons have action linked to different screen.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this “floating” menu idea and placed it five spaces above the very bottom of my pages, in case the issue was being triggered by the bar actually touching the bottom. Unfortunately, the problem still exists even with a floating bar. I wish I would have seen these threads and would have known about this issue before purchasing a paid Adalo plan. This probably would have been a deal breaker, as I really desire a working bottom bar, rather than only having a left side menu in my app.
Oct 2021 and this is still not fixed; top and bottom bars look ridiculous. Glad I only spent a few hours on this. Going to re-build in Bubble, or if anyone else has any suggestions on no-code builders with a strong and intuitive design (like Adalo used to have)/
Thanks!
No need to be snarky, we’re all here to learn and build, but honestly I don’t believe this is a problem directly tied to Adalo, I’ve checked a majority of well-known apps and they do have this depending on the Phone. I’m using an iPhone 11pro and yes it’s definitely there.
Linkedin/Discord etc.
Helllllll Yeahhhhh ! Guys, I think I just found out something big in this bottom bar going upward case. This was a dealbreaker for me too.
Although I don’t know if you guys are aware of this method.
Lemme give it a try though.
So, we wouldn’t mind a FLOATING bottom bar rather than a fixed to the base, right. By floating I mean like Pinterest’s old version method where a round-edged rectangle containing home screen icon profile icon etc.
Well in my app I don’t mind such an approach!
It is where a slight background is visible from the gap, I guess pinterest too faced this issue and came up with this.
So if you’re okay this way in your app as shown below, read further to know how I did it.
Simply, at the end of your long home screen or any screen add a rectangle, round it, place icons, name them, assign actions, AND GROUP IT ALL.
Now, select the group, in the left menu, get down to edit styles, and mark fixed to TOP, as shown below
ITS DONE, see for yourself in the preview or aab build.
I have even tested its build in android, as shown below.
If you remove the ellipse from the centre and place the rectangle down to the base, in the final build, it will move up a bit (which is what I am going to do next), and that’s workable rather than a blank big space.
Also, by reducing the rectangle’s opacity, the background can be seen, as shown below from an internally tested Asus zenfone 5z screenshot.
Working on something similar for the top bar too.
Cheers.
Hi everyone,
Don’t know you’re aware or not but if you disable the status bar it’ll be fixed.
Thanks
Would that get pass Apple tho?
Yup, I think but not tested yet on iOS
I disabled (“hidding”) the status bar in the screen settings and still the tab bar does not fit (testing it on Testflight for iOS) - do you know what I might do wrong?
Is there another solution?
How has this not been resolved yet? Such an elementary issue. Done the load of work on my marketplace MVP, and now doing an internal test on device to verify functionality only to discover this basic UI component is glitching
Adalo knows it. Also many people who commenting this is the solution. They are leading you to get rejected and have your app banned by Apple.
It might pass the first review (testflight) or even to ready to sale. Will get caught eventually
Hi,
Try go to the screen settings, edit, on the drop down for the top bar - set it to hidden
Is your app on App Store (Apple). Can I see it ?
Hey, I’ve many Apps with the status bar hidden built on Adalo. From personal experience it doesn’t mean Apple rejects your App, so it’s not necessarily the right or wrong answer. Agreed this is a bug on Adalo, and would be better fixed, but Human Interface guidelines are best practices or “Guidelines”, not always you must do xyz. A lot of my Apps I’m unable to share , but check out TTFit, or EXL Tennis. Both approved by Apple with Status Bar Hidden, and I have about 15+ others with similar.
That’s good to know. Thanks.
Ive seen many people complaining on Stack about their app being rejected because of the hidden status bar. It says it’s OK for a few functionality (full screen videos, games etcetera) but it cannot be the whole app .
Hi, any news about this bug? I am still experiencing it on Android
