@danbec good idea , but letās be honest if you have a live app with hundreds of active users and thereās a server crash are you really gonna settle on a simple status color?
I believe you are gonna still be back here ābitchingā on your frustration. Letās take this a step further and give a status code with a āfullā description. On top of that, I would add a user notification by email explaining the cause of the bug.
This should calm the community and not cause panic.
I agree with @/danbec about the color status icon you can view from the editor workspace. At least a quick way to know āhey maybe I should check the status pageā or āokay they are already awareā. Yeah a status code would be simple but taking a hint or reading the homework from places like shopify where they automatically direct you to the status page when things are down, would be nice.
Emails and desktop pop ups are a big yes. This shouldnāt be something we have to even vote on, communication is key. If they want to avoid hundreds of emails asking the same question when things are down then this would be a priority. Especially since a lot of us here PAY for the subscription. Would love to know when things are down and when they are back up.
Im here for the long run but that if the servers are slow (as they have been for months) and there are system wide crashes, we need some change.
I get they are doing their best but this isnt the first time and I know it wont be the last so might as well prepare earlier than later.
Thatās very good!
Just to clarify for everyone is this a proposed design or a real screenshot?
(I am not seeing this message at this moment on my design tool, and itās still not updating)
@JuhaniG welcome! There were issues yesterday that have returned again! Unfortunately the Adalo team is on radio silence, so in truth nobody had any idea of what the issues actually are
Btw, even though their editor (and frontend servers) is down, their backend databases are still up.
ie. If you have an app on either iOS or Android app stores, they will still work. I know because our mobile apps still work - actions meant to update the databases still function properly.
The issue is with PWAs, those wonāt even load and tell you that the app is missing or thereās an error.
I believe theyāre using weekends(?) to make these upgrades/updates since they expect most to not use the editor on weekends. But I guess many of us are actually more active on the weekends
Everything is back up and running smoothly, including our brand new Collections API functionality.
Iād like to thank everyone on this thread for a lot of their comments and great suggestions. Weāll have a much longer & detailed post about everything that happened and everything weāre doing long term from an infrastructure & performance standpoint sometime later this week, but I wanted you all to know this our top priority.
Iād also like to thank our dev team for working extremely hard over the last couple of days to resolve this issue. Stay tuned for a much more detailed plan and thanks for continuing to build amazing apps on Adalo!
Hey @David thank you for the update and big thank you to the team behind the scenes, been there! Massive well done for all the hard work
Every setback is a learning lesson and hopefully this will make Adalo better for the future
@David Thanks for the update on a weekend, appreciate it. Will look out for the blog post. Read the previous one and Iām quite surprised (in a good way) about the level of transparency and honesty. Hope you all are still coping well with one main guy taking a back seat. Cheers!
